Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arusha to Tarangire

Your guide collects you in Arusha at 8 a.m. for the two-hour drive to Tarangire. Spend the day among baobabs and elephant herds, with a picnic lunch above the river, then drive at sunset to your lodge on the ridge above the Tarangire River.

  2. Day 2

    Tarangire to the Ngorongoro highlands

An early walk with an armed ranger and a morning game drive, then up the Rift Valley escarpment into the Ngorongoro highlands, to a tented camp in an old acacia forest near the crater rim. Warm duvets, a campfire and an early night before the crater.

  3. Day 3

    Ngorongoro Crater and return

Descend into the crater at first light to look for black rhino, lion and elephant, with breakfast beside the hippo pool. Climb out after lunch and drive back to Arusha by early evening, or connect to a flight to Zanzibar.
