WOLFGUNEXPEDITIONS
About us

Excellence is our signature

A Tanzanian company, based in Arusha, built by guides who believe a safari should be designed — not sold.

Our story

Born in the plains of Kilimanjaro, our founder has spent over 23 years in the tourism industry, including more than 20 years as a safari guide. Working with travellers from around the world, through different seasons, challenges and demanding situations, shaped his experience and inspired a vision to build a lasting legacy in Tanzanian tourism.

Having spent more time in the wild than in town, nature is not just something we show our guests — it is part of who we are. Together with our team of Tanzanians, born and raised in this beautiful country, we bring first-hand knowledge of its wildlife, landscapes, geography and rich cultures.

We don’t just sell safaris; we live them. Our experience helps us understand what our guests need and what nature has to offer. We founded Wolfgun Expeditions to share Tanzania authentically, responsibly and passionately, creating meaningful journeys guided by genuine local knowledge and a deep connection to the wild.

At Wolfgun Expeditions, excellence is our signature.

Why choose Wolfgun Expeditions?

Four pillars that set us apart

  • Experienced guides

The difference is in the details

Our guides bring experience, local knowledge and a deep understanding of Tanzania’s wilderness. They do more than find animals; they help you understand their behaviour, the ecosystem and the stories behind every sighting.

  • Carefully selected camps & lodges

Stay where the experience comes alive

We select camps and lodges that complement your safari, from location and comfort to atmosphere and proximity to wildlife areas. Your accommodation is not just a place to sleep; it is part of the adventure.

  • Wildlife-timed safaris

    Nature sets the pace

The wild has its own rhythm. We plan and adapt our game drives around wildlife activity, seasonal movements, migration patterns and local conditions rather than treating every safari as a fixed timetable — because the best wildlife experiences require knowledge, patience and the flexibility to follow nature’s lead.

  • 100% Tanzanian-owned

    Local roots, authentic experiences

Tanzania is our home, and sharing it is our passion. As a locally owned and operated company, we bring first-hand knowledge, genuine Tanzanian hospitality and a personal connection to the places we explore. With Wolfgun Expeditions, you experience Tanzania through local eyes.

Travel that gives back

At Wolfgun Expeditions, we believe that travel should leave a positive footprint long after the journey ends.

We employ local Tanzanian guides and believe in fair compensation for their expertise. We arrange cultural experiences directly with local communities, helping ensure that the benefits of tourism reach the people who share their traditions and heritage with our guests.

We favour lodges and camps that invest in conservation and create local employment. We also encourage responsible travel practices, including reducing single-use plastic through refillable drinking water and more sustainable safari operations.

With Wolfgun Expeditions, your journey is more than a safari. It is an opportunity to support local livelihoods, protect our natural heritage and experience Tanzania in a way that gives something back.

Travel with purpose. Experience Tanzania. Leave a positive legacy.
